A Child Unheard

This May, two young friends of the Neptune family will begin the ride of their lives: over 10,000km over nine countries in 120 days. In just a few weeks Charles Stevens and Will Hsu will begin their journey along The Silk Road from Beijing to Tehran all in aid of a charity very close to their hearts, A Child Unheard.

Charles and Will are school friends of John's son Billy (John being one of our founders). John has known them since they were little and is immensely proud of their efforts to help one of Africa's lesser-known charities.

The boys will cycle through temperatures ranging from minus 10°C to more than 45°C. They'll climb over 4000m and descend to below sea level. They're two of the youngest people to have ever completed the journey, and 100% of the money raised will go directly to A Child Unheard.

The charity in question is a small one. Its first education centre in Uganda has already helped to improve the lives of some of Africa's most physically and psychologically vulnerable children. Charles and Will travelled to their second site in Ghana in 2015, helping the orphanage community and getting to know a number of the orphans personally. They knew they had to go back, and they knew they could do more.

You can read more about their story and upcoming journey on their website. We're getting behind them, and if you would like to do the same just click here.

And in the meantime, good luck Charles and good luck Will from all of us at Neptune.
