Oak, because it’ll look more than good in your home. You can expect the odd knot here and the odd change in wood grain there – which means no two tables will ever look quite the same – but overall, it’s a well-balanced timber.
When it comes to painted timber, like Suffolk’s legs, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.
The oak tabletop is protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil. Think of it as a defence barrier, but one that you’d never know was there. IsoGuard® comes in a few finishes; this one’s Seasoned Oak and it gives Suffolk a subtle, silvered colour – like naturally weathered timber.
Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade needs.
The ball detail in Suffolk’s legs is what gives it its country kitchen feel. For contrast, the tabletop is straight-lined and simple. Together, they give you a happy balance between old and new.

An estimated delivery date is indicated above, which we’ll confirm at checkout. We'll then be in touch prior to delivery to arrange a specific time.
If your order is being delivered to the UK mainland and Ireland via our white glove service, we’ll unbox your items, position them in your chosen room, assemble anything that’s required and remove and recycle the packaging.
We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.
When it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 20% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.
