A closer look at Monaco

Monaco’s steel frame and cream cushions give it a crisp, smart look whether you’re using it on a city balcony or in a country garden. It’s got a touch of the French Riviera about it, but it was also inspired by the balconies and railings of old townhouses.

The material

This chair’s made of galvanised and powder-coated steel, so you can leave it outdoors come wind, rain or shine. It’s got a matte, dark grey finish that’s a softer alternative to black.

The seat cushions

These are made from weather-resistant canvas, so you needn’t bring them inside if there’s a quick summer shower. They’re not completely weatherproof, though, so don’t leave them out all year long or in pouring rain. They’re filled with foam, which is soft but keeps its shape well, and the covers are removable, so they’re easy to clean.

How it feels

Monaco’s seat is quite deep and wide. It’s got an angled backrest, so you can slouch down a little if you like. And the cushions are firm enough so that you won’t feel the metal frame digging in anywhere.

Design detail

The frame is very decorative (from the scrolls on the arms to the tiny ball finials and circular detail in the backrest), especially when contrasted against the cushions, but also when left bare in the winter. The arms are flattened so you can lean on them, and these chairs can also be stacked.

Where we see it

Monaco’s designed to go with our matching rectangular table, but you could also team it with one like Provence if you prefer a round shape.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
