‘I love the way a smith can take a hard and unforgiving material, make it soft and malleable, and turn it into an object of beauty’ says artist-blacksmith, Neil Brown. Specialising in one off commissions, Neil, whose forge is the oldest in London in continuous use, creates bespoke iron work.
‘You can see almost every strike the blacksmith has made, leaving a part of the smith in every piece’. When you have locally made iron in your home, you continue that long history, becoming part of the story.’
Iron wall hooks
Neil has constructed a single and triple set of exclusive hand-beaten iron hooks. Both of which are rivetted to a back plate to allow for wall-mounting, finished with a museum-quality wax and become more polished when used.
