Frame & filling

We build our frames using solid timber and proper joinery – they’re pieces of furniture in their own right. Out of all of our stools, Alex is the most likely to be used just as a stool, so we’ve used a firm foam around its perimeter so you’ll never feel the frame beneath, but softer padding in the centre and webbing under that for a comfortable sit or place to prop up your feet.

Form and function

It’s Alex’s unassuming design and convenient size that make it such a versatile piece. It’s equally at home in a bedroom to use as a dressing table seat, sat in front of a piano, or as a side table-meets-footstool in a living space.

Design detail

Alex’s intersecting legs are made using halving joints. This is a traditional joinery technique, where sections of each piece of timber are cut away to allow them to seamlessly slot together. Oak rods join both sides for extra stability.

Furniture orders to the mainland UK and Northern Ireland come under our white glove service.
Your order will be delivered within 5-10 working days if the piece is available now.
Orders placed from outside the UK or Ireland will be delivered by our international courier partners.
