Chichester 5ft Potboard

Change colour

A closer look at Chichester

The Chichester potboard, like the rest of this collection, embodies what classic English design means to us. Potboards bring to mind traditional freestanding kitchens, and can be used to change the pace of a fitted kitchen, or as an open sideboard in a dining room.

Materials

Where the timber is painted, we’ve used tulipwood – a hardwood that has very few knots in its grain, lending it a high-quality finish. The exposed timber work surface though, is natural oak, with all of the knots and colour variations that are part of its charm (we’ve written more about oak’s qualities here).

The finish: paint

We take great care over our painted finishes and give every design exactly what it needs to make it robust. The number of base and top coats will vary according to how many that shade requires. And we use a mixture of spray-painted and hand-painted techniques so the finish is as perfect as can be.

The finish: IsoGuard®

Chichester’s work surface is protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil that makes the oak easier to live with yet doesn’t mask its natural texture. It does initially darken its appearance, but the pigments in our Natural finish replenish the original, soft-toned colour.

Design detail

Grooved details on the drawer fronts, the shelf and the legs give this pot board its traditional personality, although they’re details simple enough that it’ll work in more contemporary spaces too. The drawers close softly and rest on runners that hide underneath, so they can’t be seen when the drawer is pulled out.

The colours in our paint palette shown here are a close representation of their true shades, but to see the real thing, we suggest trying our sample paint pots.

Taking care of Chichester

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your sideboard, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service doesn't include fitted furniture.

For homes and customers outside of the UK and Ireland, our international team are here to help arrange shipping and delivery. Call us on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or e-mail  and together we’ll sort out the best method for you.

No-quibble returns

Returns should be easy, that’s why we have a ‘no quibble’ mindset.

If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then. But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out.

And when it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 30% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

And talk to our international team on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or at
