Chichester 3ft Open Rack Dresser

Change colour

A closer look at Chichester

The Chichester dresser, like the rest of this collection, embodies what classic English design means to us. Its details – skirting, cornicing and decorative mouldings on the door fronts – are traditional but simple enough to be timeless. So is the way it combines a painted finish with a solid oak work surface. In this size, it’s perfect for a small collection of crockery or even as a bookcase.

Materials: oak

Oak, because it’ll look more than good in your home. You can expect the odd knot here and the odd change in wood grain there – which means no two pieces will ever look quite the same – but overall, it’s a well-balanced timber.

Finish: IsoGuard®

The oak is protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil. Think of it as a defence barrier, but one that you’d never know was there. IsoGuard® comes in a few finishes; this one’s Natural Oak, which, as the name suggests, gives the oak a subtle, honey-coloured look.

Finish: paint

Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade needs.

Design detail

Chichester’s full of welcome little touches: soft-close runners hidden underneath the drawer; chrome roller catches on the doors; and attractive (and load-bearing) zigzag shelving supports that make it easy to rearrange things.

The colours in our paint palette shown here are a close representation of their true shades, but to see the real thing, we suggest trying our sample paint pots.

This piece is made from natural timber, which will expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes in your piece are completely natural and to be expected. Just know that, in the very unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.

Taking care of your furniture

Right this way

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

No-quibble returns

Returns should be easy, that’s why we have a ‘no quibble’ mindset.

If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then. But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out.

And when it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 30% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.
