Harrogate Dining Chair

Change colour

A closer look at Harrogate

The Harrogate dining chair has a simple and timeless shape that can be traditional or contemporary depending on the colour you paint it in and where you put it. Itís a little taller than our other wooden chairs, but doesnít add any heaviness to the room because of its slatted back and slim proportions.

Materials

When it comes to painted timber, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.

Finish

Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade needs.

Comfort & proportions

This chair’s top line will sit somewhere around your shoulders and upper back. The backrest is also curves, reclines ever so slightly, and has comfortably wide spindles. The seat dips inwards, but to make it even more comfy, add the matching seat cushion.

Design detail

Harrogate’s slatted back means it’s good for when you want an ordered feel around a rectangular table – it’s a look that works especially well in busy kitchens. Its simplicity also means it’s ideal for mixing with other chairs for a more eclectic style.
