Montague Lloyd Loom Chair

Change colour

A closer look at Montague

The Montague dining chair is made from Lloyd Loom, a traditional craft that’s durable and paintable. It combines a feeling of heritage and a great deal of texture with a very pared-back shape.

Materials

In use since the early 20th century, Lloyd Loom is made by wrapping paper around a steel wire. It won’t bend out of shape or creak when you sit down, and is completely smooth, so it won’t snag on clothes. It’s worth noting though, that it’s not suitable for using outside.

Finish

We take great care in achieving our painted finish and treat every design differently, giving it exactly what it needs to make it as robust as possible. We’ll vary the number of base and top coats according to how many that particular shade requires. And we use a mixture of spray-painted and hand-painted techniques so the finish is as perfect as possible.

Comfort & proportions

Montague is tall enough to support the upper back and shoulders. It’s also contoured for comfort: across the seat and backrest, and reclining just a little. There’s also a coordinating seat cushion available that can be added for a little more softness.

Design detail

Around the edge of Montague’s backrest, and at the top of each leg, it’s been finished with plaited Lloyd Loom. It’s a traditional detail that’s in-keeping with the material, but one that’s balanced by the chair’s simple silhouette.

Taking care of your furniture

We’ve put together a series of guides on how best to take care of our pieces, so you can keep them looking as good as the day you first brought them home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service does exclude fitted furniture.

No-quibble returns

Returns should be easy, that’s why we have a ‘no quibble’ mindset.

If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then. But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out.

And when it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 30% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.
