Suffolk 3ft Glazed Dresser

Change colour

A closer look at Suffolk

Quiet elegance and pared-back forms carry through the entire Suffolk collection, including this dresser. It’s a subtly Shaker-inspired piece that’s also a nod to the tradition of the Welsh dresser. Its simplicity makes it equally suited to contemporary spaces as it is farmhouse kitchens.

Materials

Where the timber is painted, we’ve used tulipwood – a hardwood that has very few knots in its grain, lending it a smooth finish. The exposed timber work surface though, is natural oak, with all of the knots and colour variations that are part of its charm (we’ve written more about oak’s qualities here).

The finish: IsoGuard®

IsoGuard® is the treatment oil we developed to make oak surfaces easier to live with. The Seasoned Oak finish on Suffolk’s worktop and shelves adds a subtle grey undertone – like the beautiful silvered shades of weathered timber – without masking its texture.

Design detail

In Suffolk’s glazed top are discreet bulbs that downlight and filter through its oak and glass shelving. At its base, a softly closing drawer sits on runners that hide underneath, while its doors close on magnetic catches and conceal adjustable shelves. There’s also a Shaker-style peg rail for hanging cups and milk jugs.

The colours in our paint palette shown here are a close representation of their true shades, but to see the real thing, we suggest trying our sample paint pots.

We’ve included both oak and chrome Suffolk knobs, so you can choose whichever suits your room best.

This piece is made from natural timber, which will expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes in your piece are completely natural and to be expected. Just know that, in the very unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.

Taking care of your furniture

We’ve put together a series of guides on how best to take care of our pieces, so you can keep them looking as good as the day you first brought them home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
