Balmoral Rectangular Dining Table

A closer look at Balmoral

Balmoral combines an impressive silhouette and substantial proportions with dependable oak. It’s what makes this table as at home in a contemporary barn setting as it is in a formal dining room. It’s exceptionally well built and pleasingly solid, with curvaceous baluster legs and a deep-sided, square-edged top for contrast.

Materials

We use oak because of its beautiful grain, its durability and its sense of heritage (we’ve written more on oak’s qualities here). Part of its character are its knots and variations in tone, so each piece will have its own hand-writing.

Finish

Heavily brushing the oak removes the soft fibres from its grain, creating a tactile surface that’s a touch rustic. It’s then protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil that makes oak easier to live without masking its texture. The Seasoned Oak finish just adds a subtle grey tone.

In the making

In all our tables, we use joinery techniques that help to counteract timber’s natural tendency to expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it adjusts to the temperature and humidity of your home.

Shape

Combined with its intricate details, Balmoral’s rectangular shape suits smart occasions and spaces, and adds grandeur to a simple setting. But pairing it with benches or an assortment of chairs is more casual. It also, naturally, asks for a larger space.

Design detail

Each leg is made with curves and intricate details that reflect and complement the wood’s swirling grain. As the table’s been designed so that chairs sit between the legs rather than in front, not only will you always be able to see them, they’ll also never get in the way.

Taking care of Balmoral

You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that.

Right this way

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

New, just opened, and coming very soon...

Not too long ago, a guest at one of our stores described it as being 'extraordinary'. It's the word that we feel best describes them – the look, the feel, the experience. Some are in city-centre locations, some are a little drive out, but they're all designed to feel like a real home, rather than a store.
