Henley 6-10 Seater Dining Table

A closer look at Henley

There’s an appealing sense of heritage to Henley; whether that’s in the weighty top, the turned pedestals that anchor it, or the oak from which it’s made. Its curved ends are a softer, more traditional alternative to a square edge.

Materials

We use oak because of its beautiful grain, its durability and its sense of heritage (we’ve written more on oak’s qualities here). Part of its character are its knots and variations in tone, so each piece will have its own hand-writing.

Finish

IsoGuard® is a treatment oil that makes oak easier to live with, without masking its texture. On this table, a water-based top coat also adds extra protection. Together, they create a finish we’ve aptly named Classic Oak that you’ll only find on Henley.

In the making

In all our tables, we use joinery techniques that help to counteract timber’s natural tendency to expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it adjusts to the temperature and humidity of your home.

Shape

Although this design’s rounded corners will soften a room like a circular table does, it behaves much like a rectangular table. It asks for a larger space, but is the perfect choice for greater numbers of people and brings a sense of occasion to its setting.

Design detail

The ‘skirt’ of a table sits between the tabletop and your knees. In Henley, it’s where a lot of the detail lies. It creates an attractively stepped edge that we think is just the right amount of substantial.

How it extends

Each side of Henley’s tabletop simply slides away from the centre, revealing the leaves stored beneath, which are then lifted out and slotted into place. It uses a mechanism that ensures both sides pull out squarely and at the same rate. It’s an easy thing to do, but you’ll need another pair of helping hands to manoeuvre the other side.

Taking care of Henley

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your dining table, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
