A closer look at Monaco

The crisp contrast between the Monaco armchair’s steel frame and cream-coloured cushions makes it a smart addition to both town and country, that also happens to be easy to live with. It reminds us of elegant pieces classically found in the gardens of the French Riviera, but was in fact inspired by our own metalworking heritage, such as the balconies and railings of 19th century townhouses.

Materials: steel

Galvanised and powder coated, Monaco’s steel will happily withstand wind, rain and shine. These processes also leave it with a matte, dark grey finish that’s a softer alternative to the classic black.

Materials: canvas

The cushions are made from a weather-resistant canvas, so that they needn’t be brought inside every time there’s a quick summer shower. They’re not weatherproof though – an important distinction – and so can’t be left out all year long or in pouring rain. The covers are also removeable so they can easily be cleaned.

Comfort & proportions

For a dining chair, Monaco’s seat is quite deep and wide. Along with the angle in the backrest, this allows for a little slouching if you’d like. The cushions are stuffed with foam because we’ve found that it’s the best filling to soften the frame beneath.

Design detail

The frame is very decorative (from the scrolls on the arms to the tiny ball finials and circular detail in the backrest), especially when contrasted against the cushions, but also when left bare in the winter. The arms are flattened so you can lean on them, and these chairs can also be stacked.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
