A closer look at Provence

This neat outdoor dining chair was inspired by architectural metalworking (such as the railings often seen on 19th century townhouses). Though it appears delicate, it’s in fact sturdily built from steel which has been through a four-step process to make it incredibly hardwearing.

Materials: metal

Galvanised and powder coated, Provence’s steel will happily withstand wind, rain and shine. These processes also leave it with a matte, dark grey finish that’s a softer alternative to the classic black.

Materials: canvas

The cushion is made from a weather-resistant canvas, so that it needn’t be brought inside every time there’s a quick summer shower. It isn’t weatherproof though – an important distinction – and so can’t be left out all year long or in pouring rain. The cover is also removeable so that it can easily be cleaned.

Comfort & proportions

Even though it’s a small, metal chair, we’ve designed Provence to offer as much comfort as possible. So, its back isn’t completely upright, its seat is actually quite substantial, and its cushion is stuffed with a foam that’s firm enough to soften the frame.

Design detail

The scrolling, heart-shaped detail is as much about comfort as it is looks, and provides support for your back. Just as functional, the seat has small holes that allow water to drain away. And these chairs can also be stacked together.

With or without arms?

There are two choices of Provence dining chair (the other has an armchair-like design). We tend to use this one with smaller tables, but combining both styles around one table is an easy way to create a change of pace.

Taking care of your furniture

We’ve put together a series of guides on how best to take care of our pieces, so you can keep them looking as good as the day you first brought them home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

New, just opened, and coming very soon...

Not too long ago, a guest at one of our stores described it as being 'extraordinary'. It's the word that we feel best describes them – the look, the feel, the experience. Some are in city-centre locations, some are a little drive out, but they're all designed to feel like a real home, rather than a store.
