A closer look at Stanway

Stanway’s gentle curves and woven texture give it a traditional look, but its dark grey colour’s more contemporary, so you can use it in all kinds of settings. It’s at home surrounded by natural materials like willow and hazel, but also complements stone and teak furniture.

The material

This chair’s made with a woven resin fibre we call ‘all-weather wicker’ – it’s got very much the same look as natural rattan, but it’s happy being left outside and will make your life much easier (as well as having a longer lifespan).

The seat cushion

The cushion’s made from weather-resistant canvas, so you needn’t bring it inside if there’s a quick summer shower. It isn’t completely weatherproof, though, so don’t leave it out all year long or in pouring rain. It’s filled with foam, which is soft but keeps its shape well, and the cover’s removable, so it’s easy to clean.

How it feels

Stanway’s not so deep that you lean too far back, but it’s still got that wraparound, cosy feel. It’s a little lower than some of our other dining chairs. And the foam cushion’s firm enough to be supportive.

Design detail

You’ll notice subtle details on Stanway, like the twisted texture on the arms and edges. The legs are also wrapped in woven resin, right down to the feet, which are capped to guard against dirt, damp and scuffs when it’s outdoors.

Taking care of Stanway

We’ve put together a series of guides on how best to take care of our pieces, so you can keep them looking as good as the day you first brought them home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service doesn't include fitted furniture.

For homes and customers outside of the UK and Ireland, our international team are here to help arrange shipping and delivery. Call us on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or e-mail  and together we’ll sort out the best method for you.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

You can find the store’s details online here.

And talk to our international team on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or at
