A closer look at Classic

This parasol’s more classic in looks than some of our other designs, with a teak stem that matches its spokes and a natural canvas canopy. You can use it with any of our garden furniture - in the centre of a table or separately in a stand - but it’s especially suited to pairing with rattan and timber.

The stem and spokes

Because we wanted to create a parasol that would feel completely timeless, we chose teak to create the stem and spokes: it’s hardwearing yet tactile and will blend seamlessly with its natural setting as well as our timber, stone and woven furniture.

Teak: in detail

Teak is a hardwood that’s ideally suited to life outdoors because of its high proportion of naturally-occurring oils. These protect it from the elements, so although it will age, it’ll do so gracefully. In fact, the silvering that occurs in teak is one of the things we love most about it.

The canopy

The polyester canvas canopy is incredibly hardwearing. It’s been treated to not fade in the sun (it can even be washed and scrubbed without fading); so it’ll protect you from the rain; and to have an ‘ultraviolet protection factor’ of 50+ (meaning it’ll help shield you against both UVA and UVB rays).

The mechanism

For us, inspiration often comes from boat design because we know it’s tried and tested in the toughest of environments, and because sailing is part of our heritage. The rope pulley on this parasol is one such thing, and is attractive, secure and long-lasting. (We also include a guide on how to tie it up neatly.)

In use

With most tables, our parasol will need a separate stand to keep it steady (the only table in our collection that doesn’t need this is Cadiz), and we also recommend a parasol lock for extra security. It’ll fit into any stand or table that’s wide enough for its 48mm stem, including any of our own

Just so you know

We recommend that you keep your parasol open as much as possible, especially if it gets wet, as this will help prevent mildew. Of course, if the wind picks up, it’s certainly advisable to bring it down.

Taking care of your furniture

You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that.

Right this way

When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.

With smaller designs we tend to use one of three couriers; the three that we think are the best. It means that we can get your order out to you sooner. You’ll receive an email from our delivery partner to confirm your delivery date within 24 hours of us dispatching the item (or items).

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. We offer a free returns service on accessories and all the details on what you need to do will be on your delivery note. Just make sure you keep hold of the packaging.
