Chichester Tall Wine Rack

Change colour

A closer look at Chichester

If you don’t have space for a wine rack and a bookcase, then this piece can be both, with space for 25 bottles below and open shelves above. It’s also good if you want to move your wine collection out of the kitchen and bring it closer to where you usually drink it, whether that’s a living space or dining room. You could even use the shelves above for glassware and other drinks, creating a drinks cabinet.

Chichester is made using a mix of tulipwood and oak: tulipwood for painting, because its fine grain results in a super-smooth finish; and oak where the timber is exposed, because it’s full of variations and character that we love (we’ve written more about oak’s qualities here).

We take great care over our painted finishes and give every design exactly what it needs to make it robust. The number of base and top coats will vary according to how many that shade requires. And we use a mixture of spray-painted and hand-painted techniques so the finish is as perfect as can be.

The shelves in the bookcase half of this piece are adjustable – they sit on zigzag  The soft-close drawers are useful not just for keeping things like cork screws nearby, but also for sweeping all the foil, corks and caps out of sight until they’re thrown away.

It’s important to keep bottles with corks on their sides, because this stops the cork from drying out which can cause oxidisation of the wine. It’s why all our racks hold the bottles in this way. Just be sure not to place yours near a radiator, as this too can affect the wine.

The timber in this design is finished with IsoGuard® – our innovative protective formula that helps to stop spills from leaving a stain. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to care for a design that’s treated with IsoGuard®, but we have created a few products that can help. You’ll find all these here.

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your dresser, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset.  And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.

When it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 20% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

And talk to our international team on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or at [email protected]
