Chichester 2ft6 Wine Rack

Change colour

A closer look at Chichester

If your wine collection is too large to fit into kitchen cabinetry, then this freestanding wine rack makes an attractive and practical place to keep it – classic and pared-back, made from oak and painted timber, it has enough space for 24 bottles. It’s also useful if you’d prefer to keep your wine in another room – such as your dining or living space – where you most often drink it.

Materials

Chichester is made using a mix of tulipwood and oak: tulipwood for painting, because its fine grain results in a super-smooth finish; and oak where the timber is exposed, because it’s full of variations and character that we love (we’ve written more about oak’s qualities here).

The finish: paint

We take great care over our painted finishes and give every design exactly what it needs to make it robust. The number of base and top coats will vary according to how many that shade requires. And we use a mixture of spray-painted and hand-painted techniques so the finish is as perfect as can be.

The finish: IsoGuard®

IsoGuard® is the treatment oil we developed to make oak surfaces easier to live with, helping them stand up to spills and scuffs. It also contains pigments that prevent the natural timber colour from being altered by the oil, so it looks as if untreated.

Design details

The bottles sit quite far down in the slots so you can read the labels, and each is held from rolling over by the rods behind. The soft-close drawers are useful not just for keeping things like cork screws nearby, but also for sweeping all the foil, corks and caps out of sight until they’re thrown away.

Storing your wine

It’s important to keep bottles with corks on their sides, because this stops the cork from drying out which can cause oxidisation of the wine. It’s why all our racks hold the bottles in this way. Just be sure not to place yours near a radiator, as this too can affect the wine.

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your dresser, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service doesn't include fitted furniture.

For homes and customers outside of the UK and Ireland, our international team are here to help arrange shipping and delivery. Call us on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or e-mail  and together we’ll sort out the best method for you.

No-quibble returns

Returns should be easy, that’s why we have a ‘no quibble’ mindset.

If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then. But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out.

And when it comes to designs upholstered in a made-to-order fabric or painted in a bespoke colour, there’s also a 30% returns/cancellation fee. We’d love to not have to charge a penny for this, but as they’re made just for you, we can’t always guarantee that we’ll be able to sell them again.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

And talk to our international team on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or at
