Aldwych Console Table, Small, Warm Black

A closer look at Aldwych

Our Aldwych two-drawer console tables have slim proportions and a graphic, angular shape. We created this collection to bring an element of contrast to a room, which is why we normally paint it in either Snow or Warm Black. These pieces are entirely customisable though, so you can choose to have them blend in, stand out, or introduce colour using any of the shades in our paint palette.

Materials

When it comes to painted pieces like Aldwych, we use tulipwood. Unlike a timber such as oak, it’s not the prettiest to look at, but its fine, almost knot-free grain creates a smooth finish for paint, so its dull appearance is in fact a virtue. Like oak though, it’s a resilient and strong hardwood.

Finish

We take great care over our painted finishes and give every design exactly what it needs to make it robust. The number of base and top coats will vary according to how many that shade requires. And we use a mixture of spray-painted and hand-painted techniques so the finish is as perfect as can be.

Design detail

The tray-like top doesn’t lift off, but is as practical for keeping things in place as it is decorative. There’s also a lip around the bottom shelf that does much the same thing. Underneath the legs are discreet little feet, which help to keep the paint finish from scuffing as well as protecting hard flooring.

Just So you know

The colours in our paint palette shown here are a close representation of their true shades, but to see the real thing, we suggest trying our sample paint pots.

The hardware on Aldwych changes to suit the colour it’s painted in; either the chrome Limehouse ball handle (when in Snow or any of our other shades) or the Henley Black Bronze knob (to pair with Warm Black).

This piece is made from natural timber, which will expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes in your piece are completely natural and to be expected. Just know that, in the very unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.

Taking care of Aldwych

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your console table, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
