Arundel Console Table, Medium

A closer look at Arundel

All the tables in our Arundel collection, including these console tables, were inspired by the straightforward design and dependability of traditional farmhouse pieces. But by keeping the edges crisp, the finish of the oak natural and tactile, and by placing the focus on the expert joinery, Arundel retains a contemporary, refined character.

Materials

We use oak because of its beautiful grain, its durability and its sense of heritage (we’ve written more on oak’s qualities here). Part of its character are its knots and variations in tone, so each leg will be unique, never mind each table – exact replicas aren’t what Arundel is about.

Finish

Brushing the oak removes the soft fibres from its grain, creating a tactile surface that’s a touch rustic. It’s then protected with IsoGuard®, our treatment oil that makes oak easier to live with without masking its texture. It does initially darken its appearance, but our Natural finish replenishes the original colour.

Design detail

The cross-pieces under the tabletop are a defining feature of this collection, but are particularly striking in the console table. You’ll also spot small circles throughout, noticeable only by varying colours in the timber. These are where the table has been jointed, and are much more attractive than visible screws.

Just So you know

This piece is made from natural timber, which will expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes in your piece are completely natural and to be expected. Just know that, in the very unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.

Taking care of Arundel

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your console table, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
