A closer look at Eva

Everything about the Eva armchair’s appearance feels elegant, from the slender, sculptural arms to the studs that add definition. As a contrast to this, the seat and back cushions are generously filled with soft feathers and down, and there’s plenty of room to curl up.

Frame

We build our frames as pieces of furniture in their own right, using solid timber, proper jointing and never any cardboard. And we’ve secured the back legs into the frame with finger joints, so they promise strength and stability.

Learn more about our frames.

Filling

Support and a little bounce come from the serpentine springs in the base and elastic webbing in the back. The cushions have a core of firmer foam so that you’ll never feel the frame, which is then surrounded by feather, down and fibre. It’s a mix that gives Eva its balance of structure and softness.

Comfort & proportions

Eva is quite deep, and its slim arms leave room for a generously wide seat too. The base is firm enough to be comfortable under the knees but the back’s a little softer and the right height for shoulder support.

Shape & silhouette

Both of Eva’s arms sweep downwards in two, elegant curves – it’s a look that’s a little more feminine than a straight arm and creates an attractive side profile. They also fall at just the right height for resting on.

Design detail

Along the edges runs a line of studs which highlight Eva’s architectural shape. Their colour has been selected to coordinate with each fabric, whether that’s Nickel with Hugo Spelt, Pewter with Clara Damson or Antique Brass with Emma Mustard.

Fabric notes

The textiles in our fabric library range from pure linen to rich velvet and wool, and each one has its own character. Tone and texture can vary slightly from thread to thread, and expect to see the occasional slub in our linens and pile movement in our velvets. We’ve written an article about the personality behind each of our fabrics so that you can figure out which one best suits your home.

And, rest assured, all the feathers and down in our cushion fillings come from ethical, cruelty-free sources.

Taking care of Eva

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your upholstered pieces so that they stay looking as beautiful as the day you first brought them home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you, take away the packaging for recycling, and show you how to use it.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

New, just opened. And coming very soon...

Not too long ago, a guest at one of our stores described it as being 'extraordinary'. It's the word that we feel best describes them – the look, the feel, the experience. Some are in city-centre locations, some are a little drive out, but they're all designed to feel like a real home, rather than a store.
