A closer look at Tetbury

A natural willow planter suitable for using inside or out, including a chrome-coated zinc liner to plant into (drilled with drainage holes), hidden feet underneath to lift the willow off the damp floor, and sturdy woven handles in case you need to move your planter around. This size may be the smallest in the Tetbury collection, but it’s still sizeable, ideal for growing a small topiary, bulbs or grouping of annuals.

The Material

Tetbury is made from kubu – a type of natural rattan that’s strong, smooth and sustainable. It has a grey-brown colour that fits easily into any interior. Because it’s a natural material, the colour will vary from piece to piece though, because Mother Nature is about character over clones. We've also added three small  feet on the base to help ventilate the natural rattan.

Design detail

Each Tetbury planter has a  zinc metal liner, which won’t rust over time. And, because water drains from the soil, there's drainage holes in the base.

The making process

It’s not always possible to make things by hand, but when it comes to basket-weaving, that’s really the only way to do it. It means that, even though our planters are fairly uniform in shape and size, they do vary slightly, giving them much more character than if a machine made them.

Care guide

There’s no need to do anything to look after this planter, but if you like, you can give it a gentle clean with mild soapy water now and then. If possible, letting it dry out occasionally will help slow the ageing process too.
