A closer look at Emma

Emma is our update of a classic English cabbage-rose print. The colours are simple and faded, so it’s romantic without being chintzy. It’s very much at home in a traditional room, but would add welcome softness to a modern one too.

The textile

55% linen and 45% viscose. Lara has a lighter, more open weave than most of our other linens, which works well with the subtle print. And the texture is more even, with hardly any slubs. It’ll feel cool in summer and warm in winter, so you can use it all year round.

A note on slubs

Joining natural fibres together creates raised parts in the thread, known as slubs. They’re not flaws, just part of the fabric’s character.

How it feels

Lara’s crisper than traditional linens, and will stay smooth rather than crumpling. It has a slight sheen, almost like glazed cotton, which gives it a clean, fresh character.

The colour

Sage is a soft green on a white, bleached linen background. This mix complements Lara’s leaf-like pattern and is a natural match for our Emma print in the same shade.

Where we see it

Use Lara wherever you want a room to feel lighter and brighter – on Roman blinds in a sunny room, in a garden room with lots of greenery, or on a headboard with white bedlinen.

Just so you know

There can be some colour variation between different batches of our fabric – we try to make them as small as possible, but it’s something to be expected with natural fibres. If you’re using this fabric more than once in the same room, we recommend ordering as many metres as you need in one go - that way, we can make sure it’s all from the same batch.

Care guide

You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that.

Right this way

When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.

With smaller designs we tend to use one of three couriers; the three that we think are the best. It means that we can get your order out to you sooner. You’ll receive an email from our delivery partner to confirm your delivery date within 24 hours of us dispatching the item (or items).

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. We offer a free returns service on accessories and all the details on what you need to do will be on your delivery note. Just make sure you keep hold of the packaging.
