A closer look at Angus

Angus is a warm, cosy wool fabric that’s very similar to our Elliot wool, but plain rather than patterned, so the focus is more on its grey-brown flecks. Its soft, brushed finish is intended to work beautifully with our Isla velvets.

The textile

100% wool. Angus is a thick, closely woven fabric with a lovely matte texture, almost like felted wool. It adds warmth to your home and is ideal for layering, as a neutral backdrop for other textiles.

More about wool

Wool is a soft, strong and hypoallergenic material. Insulating yet breathable, it adjusts to the temperature of a room, so it feels warm in winter and cool in summer. It’s also naturally flame retardant and resists sagging, making it ideal for upholstery.

How it feels

Like all of our wools, Angus is soft and comforting – never scratchy. The fine strands coming through the fabric give it a brushed, almost fluffy finish.

The colour

Flint is inspired by the colours of the British landscape and blends stone grey with earthy brown flecks. This mix looks right with any natural material or colour, especially wood, which plays up its warmth.

Where we see it

Angus’s natural home is on sofas, armchairs and footstools, where it looks classic and is easy to keep clean. It also makes cosy cushions, and in a room that needs extra warmth, it can be really effective as a curtain fabric.

Just so you know

There can be some colour variation between different batches of our fabric – we try to make them as small as possible, but it’s something to be expected with natural fibres. If you’re using this fabric more than once in the same room, we recommend ordering as many metres as you need in one go - that way, we can make sure it’s all from the same batch.
