A closer look at Lorne

Lorne takes inspiration from traditional plaids, but we’ve kept the colour palette simple so it sits happily with our neutral fabrics and timber furniture. It’s one for people who prefer a slightly brighter, more classic pattern than our Hector or Ewan wool checks, but still with the same large repeat.

The textile

100% wool. Lorne is a thick, closely woven fabric with a lovely matte texture, almost like felted wool. It adds warmth your home and is ideal for layering with our plain wools and Isla velvets.

More about wool

Wool is a soft, strong and hypoallergenic material. Insulating yet breathable, it adjusts to the temperature of a room, so it feels warm in winter and cool in summer. It’s also naturally flame retardant and resists sagging, qualities that make it ideal for your upholstery.

How it feels

Like all our wools, Lorne is soft and comforting - never scratchy. The fine strands coming through the fabric give it a brushed, almost fluffy finish.

The colour (1)

Rust is a mix of pale shell pink with richer, deeper rust and brown tones. It has a real warmth to it, so it’s great for cosying up a room in the colder seasons.

The colour (2)

Teal is our brightest wool fabric, a mix of vibrant blue and rust shades with a soft grey background. It goes beautifully with our Isla velvets in Fox and Kingfisher.

Where we see it

Lorne’s natural home is on sofas, armchairs and footstools, where it looks classic and is easy to keep clean. It also makes cosy cushions that add a dash of pattern to a plain sofa.

Just so you know

There can be some colour variation between different batches of our fabric – we try to make them as small as possible, but it’s something to be expected with natural fibres. If you’re using this fabric more than once in the same room, we recommend ordering as many metres as you need in one go - that way, we can make sure it’s all from the same batch.

Care guide

You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. We offer a free returns service on accessories and all the details on what you need to do will be on your delivery note. Just make sure you keep hold of the packaging.
