A closer look at Sedum

This life-like Sedum is a slightly brighter green than our other succulents, which have a blue tinge, so it’s good if you want a dose of freshness. It also has lots of spiny, fleshy leaves that give it a fuller look than the others, but that works well alongside them for a variety of interesting textures.

Why life-like?

Touches of greenery dotted around a room give it more life and can even make it feel more relaxed. But we don’t always have time to water and look after plants. Instead, these life-like succulents give you all the stress-reducing benefits of the real thing, without the commitment.

From real-life to life-like

Sedum reflexum, also known as stonecrop, is an alpine succulent native to the UK and Europe. In real life, it’s often blue-grey in colour, though it can be a more vibrant green or even yellowy too. Ours sits somewhere in the middle, with green leaves that have a realistic silvery tinge and matte texture.

The pot

Each of these succulents comes in a pot, so you can put it straight out in your home. Made from papier mâché that won’t break if it’s knocked over, its textured finish and pale grey colour give it the appearance of whitewashed stone. It’s even filled with realistically lumpy and mossy ‘soil’.

Just so you know

The wire in the stem is tough so you can’t accidentally snap it. But you’ll need something powerful if you want to trim it down. We’ve found long-handled loppers (the ones for pruning shrubs and trees) or wire cutters do the trick.

The wire inside also means you can’t put your stem in water for long or it’ll rust. So if you’re arranging it with real flowers, bend the life-like stem up out of the water.

When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.

With smaller designs we tend to use one of three couriers; the three that we think are the best. It means that we can get your order out to you sooner. You’ll receive an email from our delivery partner to confirm your delivery date within 24 hours of us dispatching the item (or items).

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. We offer a free returns service on accessories and all the details on what you need to do will be on your delivery note. Just make sure you keep hold of the packaging.
