Alderney Conical Hurricane Vase

Change size

A closer look at Alderney

Equally at home inside or outside, this small Alderney Hurricane combines the best glassware finish with a contemporary twist on a classic Hurricane shape. This smaller version is adaptable to any space – providing beauty in a compact and striking package.

As a vase

The medium-sized Alderney only needs a few stems to create a contemporary display. Or fill it with a mass of the same thing like roses if you prefer a classic look. With a flower-pot shape, you can also pot it up with a medium-sized household plant, or use it like a terrarium for succulents or cactus.

As a hurricane

Alderney’s straight-sided, conical shape maximises the reflections of flickering candlelight. Use it to create atmosphere on a mantelpiece, console table or countertop. It works best with any of Blyton 10x10cm candles.

As an ornament

Don’t worry about where you’ll store your vase when it’s not being used. Alderney looks just as good when it’s left empty. Put a pair in different sizes on the top of a sideboard, in a bookcase, or beneath a console table.

The materials

A clear glass vase reflects light in a room, in a similar way to a mirror. And with no colour, it will go with everything in the room. All our vases have heavy bases, so there’s no risk of large-headed stems.

The making process

This vase is hand blown, so no two are exactly alike. One might be a touch smaller than another; you might see a tiny air bubble trapped in the glass; or a swirl where it expanded as it was blown. It’s all part of the personality of something made by hand.

Just so you know

Our larger vases are heavy. Half-full of water, even heavier. So we recommend arranging your flowers in situ rather than trying to carry the vase when it’s full.
