Looking after Neptune designs is easy – they won’t ask you for a lot. But, whether you’d like advice on everyday cleaning or seasonal and yearly care, you’ll find all our tips, suggestions and recommendations in our care guides.
The colours in our paint palette shown here are a close representation of their true shades, but to see the real thing, we suggest trying our sample paint pots.
This piece is made from natural timber, which will expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes in your piece are completely natural and to be expected. Just know that, in the very unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.

When it comes to timber for painting, you can’t really do better than tulipwood. It’s not much to look at on its own, but it’s got a barely-there grain that guarantees a smooth finish when it’s painted. It’s also a hardwood, which means it’s strong and durable. The top’s made from oak though, this time unpainted because it would be a real shame to cover oak up.
The finish: paint
You might think hand-painting is best – usually anything done by hand is best – but that’s not always the case. Take our pieces: we’ll spray paint them a few times (and, if they need it, a few times more) and then finish off with a brush. Because that’s the way to get a properly perfect finish. Just know that it’s not a bomb-proof one. But that’s the beauty of painted timber: it’s touch-up ready.
