There are lots of choices when it comes to your Christmas tree. Classic Norway spruce or compact Fraser fir, long-branched Serbian spruce or blue-green Scots pine. When we created ours though – a life-like take on the real thing, for those of us that don’t want dropping needles – we based it on the generously wide and full Nordmann fir. It comes in three heights: 4ft, 6ft and 8ft.

The real-life tree
Of the two most popular Christmas trees in Britain (the other being the Norway spruce loved so much by the Victorians), Nordmann fir is the bushier. It means that there are plenty of branches to hang your decorations from, and that it’ll never feel sparse. Albert’s needles, like the real thing, are a deep green.
Why life-like?
Even though the scent of a real tree inside is a nostalgic part of Christmas, they’re not always practical. With a life-like tree, you won’t need to worry about watering or dropping needles, and it’ll be looking just as fresh come New Year’s Eve – ideal if you like to get your tree up as early as possible.
