The material
Stoneware is a hardwearing type of pottery, which means you can put Bretby in the dishwasher – and even the microwave – and not worry about it getting damaged easily. These are pieces to live with day after day, not tiptoe around.
The glaze
Look closely at Bretby and you’ll see a subtly dappled pattern, like individual stipples across the surface. It’s made by a reaction between the different glazes we’ve applied, exposing some of the layers beneath. The pattern varies in density across each piece, making them all individual.
The colour
As well as the dappled pattern, the reaction in the glazes reveals layers of colour, from off-white through pale blue-greys to a deeper, warmer grey. The smaller the piece, the less the glazes react, so these will be slightly lighter as the top layer of glaze is the palest.
When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.
From our own, white-glove service for delivering larger pieces in the UK and Ireland, to our courier and international partners, rest assured that we’ve done everything we can to make sure your order gets to you on time and in one, perfect piece.
Delivery’s also entirely free if you’re in the UK and spend over £50 (or €100 in Ireland).
No-quibble returns
We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.
Care guide
You can put Bretby in the microwave and dishwasher. But we think they’re well-worth the trouble of hand-washing-up. They aren't oven proof though.
