Arundel Oak Bench

Change size

A closer look at Arundel

If you want to give your dining space a more relaxed feel, then use a bench. This one has a modern country feel thanks to its A-frame legs and the tactile, weighty oak it’s made from. Arundel’s also just as useful in a hallway as somewhere to sit when putting on shoes, as an end-of-the-bed piece, or as a low-level, contemporary alternative to a console table, styled with tall vases and piles of coffee table books.

Materials

Oak, because it’ll look more than good in your home. You can expect the odd knot here and the odd change in wood grain there – which means no two benches will ever look quite the same – but overall, it’s a well-balanced timber.

Finish

To add a bit more texture to an otherwise clean and crisp timber, the oak has a brushed surface that exposes the grooves in its grain. We then apply our treatment oil – IsoGuard® – to make it easier to live with. Think of it as a defence barrier, but one that you’d never know was there. IsoGuard® comes in a few finishes; this one’s Natural Oak, which, as the name suggests, gives the oak a subtle, honey-coloured look.

Comfort and proportions

Because of its contemporary straight-lined design, Arundel’s undoubtedly firm. To make a softer sit, there’s a matching cushion, which has a mat to stop it from shifting around. And Arundel’s also simple enough to add feather-filled cushions, throws or even sheepskin rugs to.

Design detail

Every aspect of Arundel is substantial but not too chunky, so it feels solid and timeless, not clunky. You’ll also spot small circles of timber on the sides. These are where we’ve joined the parts together, and are much more attractive than visible screws.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service doesn't include fitted furniture.

For homes and customers outside of the UK and Ireland, our international team are here to help arrange shipping and delivery. Call us on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or e-mail  and together we’ll sort out the best method for you.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.

You can find the store’s details online here.

And talk to our international team on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or at
