A closer look at Delilah
All our cushions come with duck feather-filled inner pads for just the right mix of plumpness and softness. They also have concealed zips in a tonal colour, and a small tan leather tag on the bottom corner – our signature finishing touch.
Where we see it
This version of Delilah is a 45x45cm square, just right for softening dining chairs and benches, or with other sizes of cushion on a sofa. Try layering it with our Harris Tweed Marmalade, Tussock sheepskin and Grace Natural Twill cushions for the cosiest of looks, full of inviting texture.
The textile: Ink bouclé
You won’t find this bouclé textile anywhere else in our collection – it’s one-of-a-kind, and a way to add in a completely different look to upholstery fabrics. It’s made using linen and wool (sheep’s wool and mohair) which is what gives it its mix of fine and fluffier textures and varied, almost chequered, weave.
Ink boucle: in the making
Weaving is such a big part of our making heritage here in Britain, that we knew we wanted to partner with a British company to create the specially-made fabric for this cushion. It starts out life at a micro-mill in Bristol, where the pattern is designed, then heads up to Lancashire to be made.
The textile: Isla Swallow
There’s something very luxurious about velvet: its sheen and reach-out-and-touch softness will always add richness. For a little more subtlety than traditional silk velvets though, and a more timeless look, Isla is made from cotton (with a touch of hardwearing polyester) – it’s not as shiny, but it still has that warm, refined quality.
Swallow’s a dramatic navy blue, almost bordering on black; it’s only just blue enough to soften it and make it easier to use. That tone is picked up in the bouclé fabric, where it’s mixed with the natural oatmeal colour of the wool.
