Chichester 5ft Potboard

Change colour

A closer look at Chichester

The Chichester potboard, like the rest of this collection, embodies what classic English design means to us. Potboards bring to mind traditional freestanding kitchens, and can be used to change the pace of a fitted kitchen, or as an open sideboard in a dining room.

Materials: oak

The worktop is made from oak, because it’ll look more than good in your home. You can expect the odd knot here and the odd change in wood grain there – which means no two pieces will ever look quite the same – but overall, it’s a well-balanced timber.

Materials: tulipwood

But when it comes to painted timber, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.

Finish: IsoGuard®

The oak is protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil. Think of it as a defence barrier, but one that you’d never know was there. IsoGuard® comes in a few finishes; this one’s Natural Oak, which, as the name suggests, gives the oak a subtle, honey-coloured look.

Finish: paint

Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade needs.

Design detail

Grooved details on the drawer fronts, the shelf and the legs give this pot board a traditional feel, although they’re simple enough that it’ll work in more contemporary spaces too. The drawers close softly and rest on runners that hide underneath, so you can’t see them when you pull the drawer out.
