Almost all our wooden furniture, which makes up between 75 and 80% of our turnover, is made in our production house in Qingdao, China. Unusually in the furniture industry, we founded the site ourselves, and retain full control and ownership of it. The workshop is Neptune through and through and produces nothing but Neptune designs. As it is truly part of Neptune we can guarantee its operations are free of modern slavery. The workshop operates to the same exacting standards as we do in our UK office, with a deep respect for local customs and traditions.
As for the raw materials and other components we use, the timber in our furniture comes from US forests. The fabric in our upholstery comes from Belgian and Chinese mills and suppliers. Other components, such as paint and ironmongery, are sourced from China.
Sometimes we rely on the expertise of other producers, so some of our home accessory products are sourced from other suppliers, mainly in the UK and China, and also in Europe and Asia. We personally visit and audit all those suppliers.
