Larsson Dressing Table

Change colour

A closer look at Larsson

This table was made with bedrooms in mind, where it can switch easily from dressing table to writing desk (it’s a pretty way to have a workspace in a bedroom). But its carved details, elegant silhouette and distressed paint finish can translate to any room where you want to introduce Gustavian-style refinement.

For our painted pieces, we turn to tulipwood. It’s a resilient yet lightweight hardwood which has a fine grain, resulting in a smooth surface with no knots showing through.

We take great care over our painted finishes and treat every design differently so it’s robust. In Larsson, this means a base of Grey Oak which we cover completely using Salt, before sanding this back so a little of the colour beneath can show through. Alternatively, we can paint Larsson solidly in any of our other colours for you.

This table’s work surface has more than enough space for propping a mirror, for baskets and jars that store essentials, or for letter writing and paperwork (the surround along its back and sides helps keep everything in place). It also has a slimline drawer beneath for anything you’d like to tuck away.

Design detail

As is often the case with Gustavian-style pieces, Larsson’s proportions are slim and delicate, which is why we think this is a style perfectly suited to bedroom furniture. The carved details – like wildflower motifs – only add to its prettiness.
