Wardley Dining Chair

Change colour

A closer look at Wardley

There’s a sense of heritage and craft in Wardley’s design – a classic Windsor chair made contemporary. It’s a style that’s been around since the 18th-century, that we’ve simplified and added Shaker-style joinery details to. It’s good for when you want a minimal look but still plenty of character. For a timber chair, it’s also surprisingly comfortable, thanks to the curves in its design.

Materials

When it comes to painted timber, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.

Finish

Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade needs.

Comfort & proportions

It may be made from wood, but Wardley doesn’t compromise on comfort. The top rail of the backrest curves to meet the shoulder blades, and there’s a barely detectable (until you sit in it), leg-hugging saddle shape to the seat.

Design detail

To give it a crafted feel, the foxtail joints that attach the legs are visible in the seat. Sometimes they’re flush, sometimes they sit just proud (although you won’t feel them) – a variation that means each chair has its own character. From the back, there’s also the swallowtail detail usually found on Shaker boxes.

Right this way

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. The assembly service doesn't include fitted furniture.

For homes and customers outside of the UK and Ireland, our international team are here to help arrange shipping and delivery. Call us on +44 (0)1793 427 427 or e-mail  and together we’ll sort out the best method for you.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.

If you’ve bought something from us outside the UK or Ireland, just get in touch with the store you bought it from – or with our international team if you bought it through them – and they’ll let you know how you can return or exchange it.
