We’ve created this care kit especially for looking after any pieces you might have in our Darkened Oak IsoGuard® finish. It includes (just about) everything you’ll need to clean and touch-up your Darkened Oak design – keep scrolling for all the details.
Design & engineering
Included in your care kit is: a bottle of our surface soap (a mild but effective formula to use for deep cleaning);Darkened Oak touch-up oil (for refinishing any scuffs and scrapes); and an e-cloth (an amazingly effective, durableandreusable cloth to use in cleaning or touching up).
What’s not included?
Your surface soap and e-cloth are just about all you’ll need for both deep cleaning and day-to-day care (the e-cloth is great at picking up dust and can also be used for mopping spills). When touching up the finishwith the oilthough, you’ll also need apaint brush.
How easy is it to touch up?
Not very hard at all! We’ll include detailed instructions with your care kit but, essentially, it’s just a case of cleaning your piece, applying the oil with a brush, wiping off the excess with your e-cloth (or any other microfibre cloth) and thenleaving it to dry. This part takes six–eight hours to be touch-dry, but you’ll need to be careful with it for the next week.
What is IsoGuard®?
IsoGuard® is ouroil-based formulathatincreases the natural resistance of the wood to help it stand up to spills, marks and scuffs. It’stough, but there’s a chance that, if you scratchthe pigment the oil adds toyour Darkened Oak piece, the natural oak colour will show through. Which is where this touch-up kit comes in so, when life happens, there’s a little extra help at hand.
