The textile
Harry’s made from 100% linen: a strong natural textile that’ll only get softer with age. It’ll feel cool in summer and warm in winter, so you can use it all year round. And it’s dotted with slubs: raised and knobbly threads that are a part of linen’s character.
The look & feel
There’s some weight to our Harry linen, but it’s woven with fine yarns, so it’s softer, lighter and smoother than a more heavily textured linen like Finian. It’s also yarn dyed, which means that the threads are dyed before they’re woven, which is what gives it such a great depth of colour and interesting variation.
The colour
Our Harry linen comes in several shades, each one inspired by nature. This one, Rose Hip, is a rich red with a dose of pink, just a touch of orange (although it’s much less orange than Harry Rust) and with more softness than a true, pillar-box red. Think of it as the colour of a rose’s hips come autumn.
Where we see it
As Harry’s one of our more hardwearing linens, it’s good for sofas and chairs that get used all the time, and its relaxed, slubby look suits laidback rooms. Try pairing the Rose Hip colourway with deep shades of green (like our Olive cushions and upholstery fabrics) for an eclectic, heritage look. Or, use it to enliven a largely neutral or grey-toned scheme.

Need to know
- Due to the organic flax fibres, there will be variations in colour and white, raised slubs will occur as part of this natural, artisanally made fabric.
- Subtle creases will appear over time.
- To meet fire retardant upholstery regulations, use with a schedule three interliner – this can be found in most fabric shops.
- Some light will seep through the fine fabric, so we suggest using with a black-out layer for curtains.
