The material & colour
Linen and cotton are both soft, strong and breathable natural fabrics. Leaving them unbleached means that Orla’s base colour is the natural grey-beige colour of the fibres. The pattern colour – Saffron – is a warming ‘true’ yellow (less orange than our Mustard fabrics).
The look & feel
Orla has quite an even, uniform weave and a smooth surface, with some slubs (raised threads that are a natural part of linen) but less texture than some of the pure linens in our collections. It also drapes beautifully, so works well for curtains and blinds, and will make soft, supple cushions.
Using Orla in your home
Because Orla’s pattern sits somewhere between Thea’s and Emma’s in terms of scale, the three mix well together if you’d like to layer pattern in your room. It’s suitable for using on upholstery, cushions and window treatments.
We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.
You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that.
Just so you know
There can be some colour variation between different batches of our fabric – we try to make them as small as possible, but it’s something to be expected with natural fibres. If you’re using this fabric more than once in the same room, we recommend ordering as many metres as you need in one go - that way, we can make sure it’s all from the same batch.
Can be washed at 40 degree delicate wash. Note after a couple of washes colour may fade slightly
