Apprentice IT Service Desk Analyst

Neptune HQ, Swindon - Permanent, full-time

The role

From brave beginnings in a Wiltshire barn in 1996, our UK team has grown to a team of 450 people and counting. We design, manufacture and retail a beautiful collection of kitchens, luxury furniture and accessories for the home and garden too.

Our IT team are the backbone that enables our business to run. They're the people who design, build and manage the infrastructure that we use to do our jobs. The IT department are also instrumental in keeping everything ticking over nicely on an everyday basis, be this till systems in store, or emails in HQ.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice IT Service Desk Analyst to join our friendly IT service team and join us in our quest to deliver excellent service to our internal customers. Within this role you will be guided by our IT Operations Manager, receiving support, training and development alongside the opportunity to complete an IT Infrastructure Technician Level 3 apprenticeship.

The training and support offered will enable you to develop key skills and knowledge and become proficient in carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Offer software, hardware and networking support to people right across the Neptune business, in person, over the phone and by email
  • Understand issues and communicate to the appropriate people to ensure they can be resolved
  • Support the team in finding temporary work-around and long-term solutions
  • Play an active role in helping the IT team develop and improve their service delivery to the business
  • Maintain good relationships with both internal users and with external IT suppliers

We are looking for someone who has plenty of enthusiasm and a passion for learning technology and business processes, as after an initial training period you'll have the genuine opportunity to grow in this role.

Ideally, you will have knowledge and an understanding of the latest Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and IT Networks, but your desire to learn is of equal importance to us. Along with having good problem solving and fantastic communication skills, we'd love it if you could bring a genuine pride in doing things right.

If you are seeking an IT Service role with a difference, we can offer you the hands-on and formal training and experience to succeed. If you have an eye for detail and thrive in a team environment, we want to hear from you! In return, we offer a highly competitive salary and a fantastic range of benefits. Please get in touch by sending your CV to us along with your salary requests.

We're fortunate to receive hundreds and hundreds of applications every week and while we try to respond to every email, the sheer volume sometimes makes that difficult. So, if you don't hear from us within 14 days, this means your application hasn't been successful, but we thank you very much for your interest in our company.
