Our in-house Product Design and Development team are constantly designing, engineering, testing and perfecting new and existing products to make sure they continue to delight our customers. We are searching for a for a hands-on and Solidworks software savvy R&D Support Engineer to join us. In this new role you will support the Lead Engineer with product development, through engineering, testing and recording the technical and quality aspects of the entire Neptune product range.
You will partner with product designers and product managers in the completion of briefs to ensure product launches are achieved within agreed timeframes. You will specify and check product quality, testing and compliance as required during the entire product lifecycle, from drawing and sampling through to factory production, launch and continued product improvements. Improvement leads to the need for innovation and working with the R&D team, you will be a key part in the drive for a better Neptune product.
In this exciting new role, you'll be working at the heart of Neptune products every day, and be responsible for:
- Engineering products in Solidworks to assist the technical development of products, testing to assess and evaluate performance, ensuring designs are safe, fit-for-purpose and compliant
- Partnering with our internal teams in China to verify each product is tested, labelled and has clear and concise instructions
- Creating, managing and maintaining product test reports, certificates and documents, updating information on the PDM database and communicating to internal teams
- Helping the R&D team to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers
We are looking for a middleweight engineer with a degree in BSc Product design, Mechanical or Engineering design, along with experience with CAD design software, Solidworks, reading technical drawings and bills of materials and knowledge of manufacturing processes, principals and supplier briefings. You'll be a natural hands-on problem solver who enjoys getting involved and brings a positive attitude to solution finding and working in a close-knit team. With previous experience in product testing, you will bring a sound knowledge of industry standards and regulations, however your eagerness to learn the Neptune way is also just as important to us.
