These highly decorative table lamps feature the delicate thistle motif from our Olney crockery – a pretty, but not fussy, stylised design that brings to mind 19th-century British pottery. Each lamp’s decoration is individually hand-stamped, a technique which creates variations in the motifs’ depth of colour and arrangement, so every piece is entirely unique and bears the mark of the craftsman who created it.
The materials and finishes
Just like the crockery collection they’re based on, our Olney lamps are made from stoneware – a hardwearing type of clay – which, after it’s hand-stamped, is finished with a subtly glossy glaze. We’ve also used a chrome-coloured neck and bulb socket, and a silver braided silk flex to coordinate with the dark grey-brown pattern and creamy white background.
