A closer look at Brompton

Brompton is a wall light that can be adjusted in two places, so its light can be angled to shine just where it’s needed. Its high-shine, nickel-plated surface adds a glamorous finish to the industrial shape. It’s available in two sizes: this is the largest, and most eye-catching.

Materials & finish

Brompton is nickel plated: a finish that’s bright, that shines out in the room. It’s very similar to chrome (both are pure chemical elements), but has a slightly warmer undertone that’s a little like silver to complement Brompton’s early 20th century influences.

Design detail

The shade’s ballooning shape is what gives Brompton its statement character. More detail comes from the wing nut dials at each joint that loosen to adjust the angle, while the simple backplate keeps Brompton from being fussy.

Where we see it

As it can be angled in multiple directions, Brompton makes an ideal reading light. It’s just as useful though, as a downlight along the top of bookcases or kitchen cabinets. The shape and size of this larger size is also striking when multiples are lined up along a corridor.

Just so you know

Brompton has been designed to be integrated into your room’s electrical plan, and doesn’t have a switch as part of its design, so we recommend that it’s fitted by an electrician.

If you plan to use a light source within 60cm of water, such as in a kitchen or bathroom, you’ll need to be sure it’s IP44 rated (such as our Brunswick wall lights). But if you’re placing your light more than 60cm from a water source, you can go ahead and use any of our lighting designs. For anything electrical, we always advise speaking to a qualified electrician.

Taking care of Brompton

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your wall light, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
