Blenheim’s made from natural timber, which will expand and shrink slightly as it responds to the humidity and temperature in your room. We’ve used joinery techniques that’ll help to counteract this, but small changes are completely natural. In the unlikely event that there’s a significant change to the structure, we’ll be here to help.
Looking after Neptune designs is easy – they won’t ask you for a lot. But, whether you’d like advice on everyday cleaning or seasonal and yearly care, you’ll find all our tips, suggestions and recommendations in our care guides.
A closer look at Blenheim
Like most of our unpainted timber furniture, we’ve made Blenheim from oak, chosen for its beautiful grain, its durability and its sense of heritage. Knots and variations in tone are part of its character, so each and every part of Blenheim will be unique.
Brushing the oak removes the soft fibres from its grain, so you get a rustic, touchable texture. It’s then protected with our IsoGuard® treatment oil in Darkened Oak, which guards against dirt and scuffs without masking, and gives the oak a deep, rich colour that makes even more of a statement out of the distinctive wood grain.
This is the kind of table that’s best suited to the corner of a room or beside a bed as it’s a little too tall for most chairs. It has enough space on its tabletop for a paperback and a glass of water, and of course, a lampstand.
Although the drawer in this table is quite slim – so as not to detract from the delicate proportions – it is large enough for a few essentials. We’d say it’s best suited to a guest bedroom or to the bedside of a more minimal person.
Blenheim is full of decorative details, like the arcs at the base that reference the fretwork of the 18th century table that inspired it; or the rounded, tapered legs with their carved details; and the unusual, castellated shape of the tabletop. It’s kept from being fussy though, by its crisp edges and tactile finish.
