A closer look at Cullingworth
100% wool. There are lots of reasons why wool works well for rugs. It feels soft underfoot, keeps its shape and is breathable, so it won’t trap smells. And as it’s a natural insulator, it’ll help keep your room warm and muffle any ambient noise.
Because it’s much finer than Tolsey or Elgin, Cullingworth isn’t as cushioning to walk on, but that’s what makes it so good for layering, especially with sheepskin rugs. It’s also not quite as soft, though it has a slightly fluffy texture that’s still lovely on bare feet.
Cullingworth comes in two, neutral shades which are both easy to use anywhere. This one’s called Oatmeal and is lighter than Grey, but not so pale that it’s impractical. It’s on the cooler side too, which feels more contemporary than a yellow-toned neutral would.
Design is in the detail
This rug has a thicker border than our other designs, which helps to frame it, stopping the fine weave from blending in too much. It’s made from cotton and doesn’t have a pattern, but it’s ever so slightly darker. Underneath, there’s a cotton and natural latex backing to add durability and stop the rug moving around so much.
