A closer look at Laverton
100% wool. There are lots of reasons why wool works well for rugs. It feels soft underfoot, keeps its shape and is breathable, so it won’t trap smells. And as it’s a natural insulator, it’ll help keep your room warm and muffle any ambient noise.
Laverton is a flatweave rug, which means it’s woven rather than having knots or tufts. Its texture is much finer and flatter than most of our rugs, but this shows the pattern off better. It also makes it hardwearing and easy to keep clean, as there’s no pile to trap dust and dirt. Fine strands coming through the weave give it a softer look.
How we make it
Our flatweave rugs are made on hand-operated looms, so they may have tiny slubs here and there in the weave. These are something to embrace as part of their handmade character.
A simple overstitched border keeps the focus on Laverton’s bold pattern.
