A closer look at Delilah
The textiles: Chloe
Chloe is one of our Character linens, so-called because they’re full of small slubs (raised sections of the linen yarn) that give them lots of natural texture. It’s made from seed to finished fabric in Belgium – a country well-known for their expertise in fine linen making. It’s also stonewashed: a traditional process that softens the fabric, gives it its slightly downy texture and gently fades the colour.
The textiles: Orla
Whereas Chloe is quite thickly woven, Orla is much finer, creating a textural contrast. It’s a blend of unbleached linen and cotton (so you’ll spot small flecks in the yarn) onto which we’ve digitally printed the thistle motif in reverse (so the background is coloured). This pattern is based on our block-printed Orla crockery, so we’ve given the fabric a similarly uneven, handmade look.
Moss is an earthy, clay-like green with a good dose of grey mixed in. This knocks it back, making it more of a neutral than a strong colour. It works well as a grounding on which to add more vibrant colours (and looks particularly good with reds, rusts and yellows, as well as stronger greens).
All our cushions come with concealed zips in a coordinating colour, a duck-feather filled pad that’s just the right amount of plump and squishy, and our signature detail, a small tan leather tab with a discreet Neptune ‘N’.
