The Quince wall art series comprises exquisite giclée prints of rare artworks from the American Pomological Watercolor Collection. This prized historic resource documented fruit and nut specimens found by plant explorers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Our chosen pieces date from 1898 to 1918 and examine different varieties of quince in all their organic glory.

The Pomological Watercolor Collection
These technically accurate artworks are a celebration of women’s role in the creation of botanical illustration. At the time, working as a government illustrator was one of few career avenues available to women and as such, around one-third of the artists for this collection were female. This includes Amanda Almira Newton who produced more than 1,200 paintings and was the original creator of Quince No. 45908.
