On Thursday 3rd October, we have Lilian Hiw, a cookery teacher and private chef who’s worked in some of Asia's most celebrated hotels, joining us in store.
Lilian will demystify the art of dim sum – an ideal make-ahead canape – making replicating them at home easy using ready-made dumpling wrappers, easy to follow methods and hands-on practice. You’ll learn the technique of making classic dim sum using fresh ingredients that are readily available and, with the skills you’ve found, create your own flavour combinations.
You’ll also discover how to make steamed pork siew mai and baked char siew puffs, master the art of knife sharpening, and learn cutting skills, vegetable carving and how to present your food. Cucumber water and Chinese tea will be served throughout the workshop as well as our signature welcome cocktail here at Neptune Bury St Edmunds, called ‘The Hammock’ after the very-first Neptune design.
