Materials and finish
We make Ellingham using stoneware because it’s incredibly durable – we want these to be the kind of pieces you can pass down. In terms of colour, its alternating bands of grey and white are similar to our Fog and Snow paints.
The stripe design is created using a technique called ‘overglazing’, where the white bands are applied on top of the already fired grey base, and then fired again. By adding water to the white glaze, it runs down to create a more relaxed, layered effect. This finishing is all done by hand, which means each vase is a little bit individual.
How you can use it
At just over 20cm high, this vase is a good size for most cutting-garden flowers and is easy to arrange with. It tapers in towards its top before splaying outwards, which makes it especially good for straighter and stiffer stems that need a bit of encouragement to fan out in a more natural shape.
When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.
From our own, white-glove service for delivering larger pieces in the UK and Ireland, to our courier and international partners, rest assured that we’ve done everything we can to make sure your order gets to you on time and in one, perfect piece.
Delivery’s also entirely free if you’re in the UK and spend over £50 (or €100 in Ireland).
We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.
You want: easy-to-care-for pieces that you don’t need to tiptoe around. We’ve got: easy-to-read-through care guides that give you just that. Right this way
Just so you know
Our larger vases are heavy. Half-full of water, even heavier. So we recommend arranging your flowers in situ rather than trying to carry the vase when it’s full.
